| I don’t have much of a problem with Czech. My teacher helped me a lot. Sometimes I have problems with idioms like: “Strike while the iron’s hot”… or “and that was that” …“. My mother tongue is Vietnamese and I go to a course so as not to forget it. Also me and my parents watch Vietnamese programmes on the TV via satellite. I also translate the menu in dad’s restaurant into Czech.
Sometimes I think back to my problems with Czech. I had to have special tuition, but eventually I got the hang of it. Because mum doesn’t understand Czech I sometimes have go translate for her. But I started to have problems when they added a third language at school – English. That’s still going pretty slowly. |
