I’ve got my mother tongue and my father tongue – I speak Czech with mum and Dutch with dad. With my brother it depends on the situation. All in all it’s cool.
I had to start learning English and German when I was too young. And it’s especially difficult, because in Dutch the same combination of sounds are pronounced and written differently, and I can’t distinguish between them. And writing’s a bloody nightmare. Sometimes I don’t even see it. My brother doesn’t have these troubles. He’s really good at languages, and he’s always correcting me. |
