See who else is hereSo who exactly are you then?

Pavla: Hi guys. Listen, I’ve got a problem. My homework is to write a list of who are actually national minorities. So I wanted to ask you lot where you fit into it. You’re all national minorities, aren’t you?

The others look at each other blankly.

Pavla: Or aren’t you?

Suong: Uh, I don’t think we are.

Pavla: So what are you then?

Suong: Well I’m a foreigner with long-term residence. If I was part of a national minority, I would have to be Czech.

Pavla: But that’s not possible, is it?

Ali: Suong would have to have Czech nationality - that would be possible, wouldn’t it?

Pavla: So who’s a national minority here then? Olga?

Olga: Nah, I’m in the same boat as Suong. So that leaves you with Ali, Jožo, Daniel and Andrea.

Pavla: Stop being difficult, and just tell me which one of you is a national minority? Have we got some kind of Zimbabwean minority in the country, or what?

Ali: Well in case you haven’t noticed, I’m Czech, though you’re the only one who would put me amongst the minority!!!

Pavla: Alright, so it’s got to be Daniel and Andrea and Jožo then, hasn’t it? But how come you go to the same school, and not to some special school for minorities? They told us that minorities can have their own schools.

Andrea: Hmm, you’re asking the wrong person. I’ve never heard of any special school where Roma people can go as a minority. And even if they could, I don’t know if I’d even want to go there.
