Olga: And as for that brainwashing - do you think that believing in nothing means you’re not being brainwashed? Whether or not someone’s brainwashed doesn’t depend on whether they’re religious or not!
Pavla: What does it depend on, then?
Olga: Well, maybe on whether you think for yourself, or whether you just repeat what other people say.
Pavla: And do you know anyone who’s religious and is still thinking for themselves?
There is a moment of embarrassing silence, only interrupted by Suong.
Suong: My grandpa taught me how to meditate when I was little. He also explained to me how to make a mandala in the sand. It’s like building a model ship or something like that. It helps a person not just to meditate, but they also learn how to concentrate.
Olga: I heard that eastern monks use these eastern rosaries or something like that. They’re these little beads on a string and they recite something over and over on it. Apparently they help you meditate as well. Have you ever tried something like that?
Jožo: No, but maybe we could start with that mandala, since Suong knows how it’s done. What do you think, Suong?
